My
violin and I have spent untold hours (years!) of my
life playing
music for every event imaginable: nightclubs, shows, weddings,
receptions, hospitals, art exhibits, retirement homes, conventions,
parties, dinners . . . .
I have a strong background in classical music, and I also
have many years experience playing improvisational music with
rock, country, swing and jazz groups. In addition to performing
live, I also record regularly with a diverse list of artists.
I can share
my experiences with you and
help you make exiting and informed choices.

SHEET MUSIC for SPECIAL SONGS
I am always happy
to add a new piece of music to my repertoire!
Just let me know the title and I will
make every attempt to find it in a
music store or on the Internet.
Here is a link to digital sheet
music.
If you want to find a particular song, this
is a great place to look for it:

TRADITIONAL WEDDING CEREMONY
FORMAT
Music begins as the first
guests arrive and continues throughout the processional.
Generally the prelude lasts from
30 to 45 minutes. If the wedding is
running late, no problem! We have enough
music to play forever!
You may allow selections
to be musician's choice, however think about whether
you want classical music, standard love songs, or a mixture of
both. Also, the last few pieces of the prelude are very important,
for all of your guests are there!
PROCESSIONAL
I always ask for
a person who is NOT in the wedding party to signal me when
the bridal party is ready. I need a very clear signal so
I know when to begin this first processional selection. A special
piece can be played for each event of the processional.
The processional begins with:
Formal seating of the mothers (grandmothers may also be included
in this seating)
Are the mothers going to light candles? Will they be seated
first and get up together, or do they walk
directly to the candle?
Entrance of officiant, groom and groomsmen
Are the groomsmen going
to escort the bridesmaids, will they meet
them half way, or will
they take their places in front with the officiant?
Bridesmaid's entry, either one by one or escorted
by groomsmen
Bride's walk to the alter
CEREMONY
Musical selections orchestrate customs
such as:
Lighting of Unity Candle
Rose Ceremony
Sign of Peace
Meditation
Sharing Wine
Jumping the Broom
Unity Sand Ceremony
Use your creativity!
RECESSIONAL
Bride and groom are pronounced husband
and wife
and are presented to the guests:
Music should be joyful and grand.
Music continues until the last person leaves.
Sometimes brides and grooms
choose to release guests row by row. This may require up to 20
or 30 more minutes of music.
CATHOLIC MASS CEREMONY FORMAT
PRELUDE
Music begins as the first
guests arrive and continues throughout the processional.
Generally
the prelude lasts from 30 to 45 minutes.
Musical selections generally must
be approved by the music director of the church. Selections
are classical and sacred, not secular. Some Catholic churches
are very strict regarding what can be played.
The great news is there are endless beautiful
pieces that are approved.
PROCESSIONAL
As with the traditional wedding
ceremony, I need a signal person
to let me
know when the bridal party is ready to
begin the processional.
The processional begins with:
The priest, groom, and best man wait
at the altar
Mothers and grandmothers are seated
Groomsmen
then enter from the side and may accompany the bridesmaids
Bridesmaids enter, starting with the maid
who will stand farthest from the bride
Ring bearer and flower girl enter and
may be seated with their parents once they reach the altar
The bride enters, accompanied by her father
or other close male relative.
CEREMONY
Musical selections orchestrate these
events:
Prelude
Processional
Responsorial Psalm
Gospel Acclimation (Celtic Alleluia)
Unity Candle
Sign of Peace
Communion
Flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary
Recessional
Postlude
JEWISH WEDDING CEREMONY FORMAT
PRELUDE
Music begins as the first guests arrive
and continues throughout the processional.
Generally the prelude lasts
from 30 to 45 minutes.
Classical, standards, traditional Jewish
music - they are all appropriate for a Jewish ceremony.
PROCESSIONAL
As usual, I ask for someone to signal
me when the processional is to begin.
The processional begins with:
· Rabbi and cantor
(on Rabbi's right)
· Bride's grandparents
· Groom's grandparents
· Ushers in pairs
by height
· Best man
· Groom and his
parents
· Bridesmaids
individually by height
· Honor attendant(s)
· Flower girl
and ring bearer
· Bride and her
parents
WONDERFUL WEDDING RECEPTIONS

ages
Music is loud enough to reach all guests
without interrupting conversation
Big
Productions
Over 100 guests

friends from everwhere
Music is at a volume that allows for clear
conversation, but also loud enough to produce a party atmosphere.
